National Pride's definition is fairly obvious, It's something our nation and people and nation can be proud of. Barastan has many symbols of national pride with many more to come. On this page are various symbols of national pride.
Some may wonder why we chose the name "Barastan." The name Barastan consists of 2 parts, Bara and Stan. The Bara comes from our history (Refer to history page under resources.) Barastan didn't start as a country but an association, the BAR (Ben, Andrew, Rhys) Association. The Bar association was named after it's founders, (Sir The) Ben, (The) Andrew and (Sir) Rhys. Putting the first letter's of their names together makes the word BAR. The BAR association had the idea for Barastan because before that they were not much but a name hence BAR being in the name. Stan is the more simple part of this. Stan means land in Persian hence various countries such as Uzbekistan ending in Stan. For the "A" between Bar and Stan we just thought that Barastan sounded better than Barstan.
Barastan means "only standard" in Swedish! (we have not had a Swedish person confirm this)
The Barastanian National Flag
The Barastanian National Flag is currently the Republic flag of Barastan. It became the flag after it won the Barastanian flag contest with a 2/3rd majority on August 10th 2014. The red represents our historical ties to Canada and the white represents peace within Barastan's borders. The star/government of Barastan symbol represents Barastan.
You may have noticed the Sir, The or Sir The in front of Barastanian's Names. These are Barastanian Titles. The Sir is awarded to Government Officials who have helped build the country or served for a long time (5+ Years.) The "The" is awarded to people who have done great thing's for this country but are not a Government Official. The "Sir The" Is given to the President when he/she is sworn in and kept for life.
